McKay Daines

McKay Daines is a DGA award-winning director, writer, and producer. His resume and expertise in film-making span over two decades and include feature films, documentaries, advertising campaigns, and cable television shows.
McKay is currently in pre-production on the WW2 epic feature film Faith, Hope & Charity set in Malta. He is directing, producing and co-wrote the script of the brave RAF pilots who defended the island at the beginning of the war in WW1 biplanes against an onslaught of attacks by superior Italian planes. With his co-production partners OutEast Entertainment and The Berkeley Media Group in the UK.
In 2018 he finished the pilot to Shadow Wolves, a new international television series that he wrote, directed and is an Executive Producer on. It is based on McKay’s original script and stars Thomas Gibson of Criminal Minds, Cody Walker of The Fast and the Furious, Louise Lombard of CSI, and the only Native American Academy Award nominee in history, Graham Greene. Premiere Entertainment released the two-hour pilot worldwide as a feature film in 2019 and OutEast Entertainment is developing it into a TV series.
In 2017 he was the writer, director and Executive Producer of the pilot for the Michael Vey TV series, based on the international bestselling books by Richard Paul Evans and starring John Shea and Louise Lombard. He was also the director and producer of the award-winning documentary True Iran, which premiered at the U.S. Capitol and has been seen by over 300 million people in the Middle East and Europe.
Among his most notable past accomplishments include the SyFy original movie Age of the Dragons (2011), Heber Holiday (2007), The Dance (2007) and the award-winning documentary series The Abolitionists (2016).
Awards
During his career, Daines’ films have been awarded the Best of Fest and Best Feature Film Audience Awards at the 2007 Temecula Valley International Film Festival (Shooting Star); the opening night Gala Premier film and winner of the Best Narrative Film Award at the 2008 Foursome Film Festival (Heber Holiday); the Storyteller Award at the 2006 Redemptive Film Festival (The Dance); and the Best Documentary winner of both the American Film Renaissance Film Festival and the Liberty Film Festival (In the Face of Evil). Daines also produced the feature film Friends for Life, which garnered 30 independent film awards.
